'Music is a wonderful self-disciplinary exercise for children. If a child shows interest in music and chooses guitar as his course of study, it should first be determined if the child can persist through the sometimes tedious process of learning to play guitar. Once a student reaches the advanced phases of guitar lessons, he is encouraged to try performing before an audience or to play guitar with other types of musicians. This affords the student a more well-rounded course of guitar study.
